Ohio – Ohio mom and dad are devastated and struggling to understand how such a tragedy could have been prevented after one of their family’s animals mauIed their baby to death. The 7-month-old child, EIizah, was fatally assaaulted by one of her family’s pit-buIIs on April 9, 2025. Emergency responders arrived shortly after 11:30 a.m., but the child was pronounced dead at 11:43 a.m. at the Children’s Hospital.
The infant’s parents, M. CopIey and K. Turrner, are grappling with the unimaginable loss. The baby’s mom shared her grief on social media, stating, “I will never understand why!!!” alongside photos of her child with the family animals. She described the pet involved in the attack as one that had been by EIizah’s side daily.
The woman also expressed his sorrow online, writing, “Life is so not fair. How can I continue living without her.” The family had recently moved into a new home, marking what was meant to be a fresh start.
The specific circumstances leading to the fatal bite remain unclear, and it is not known which of the three dogs was responsible.Animal Control has taken the dogs pending further investigation. Authorities in Ohio described the event as a tragic accident.
