Little Rock, ARK – Two people were injured in a shooting at Park Plaza Mall on Black Friday, sending shockwaves through the popular shopping destination during one of the busiest retail days of the year.
The Little Rock Police Department responded to the incident shortly after 1:44 p.m. on November 29, initially treating the situation as a possible active shooter scenario. However, authorities quickly determined that the incident was not a mass shooting but an isolated event.
Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The individual was promptly transported to a nearby hospital by the Little Rock Fire Department’s MEMS team. Following the initial response, a second victim, also injured in the shooting, arrived at a different hospital by personal vehicle.
Both victims were treated for gunshot wounds, but police confirmed that their injuries are not life-threatening. Officials stated that the two individuals are expected to make a full recovery.
While the mall was briefly placed on alert, there were no further threats identified, and the situation was swiftly contained. The police have not yet released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including any potential suspects or motives.
Park Plaza Mall, which was bustling with shoppers taking advantage of Black Friday sales, has since resumed normal operations, though many were left shaken by the incident. Police are continuing their investigation and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
