Fort Smith, Ark. – Fort Smith Mayor George McGill recently joined students and staff at Morrison Elementary School to celebrate a major milestone marking the school’s 50th year within the Fort Smith Public School District.
The event, titled “50 Years of Reading,” highlighted decades of education, growth, and the school’s lasting impact on generations of students in the community. Students and educators gathered to reflect on the school’s history and its role in shaping learning experiences over the years.
During the visit, the mayor recognized the importance of literacy and education, emphasizing the value Morrison Elementary has brought to families across Fort Smith since its establishment.
