In Jacksonville, ARDOT will shortly enlarge Highway 67 to six lanes, causing a diversion on John Harden Drive

Little Rock, Arkansas – According to a press release from the Arkansas Department of Transportation, a temporary diversion of John Harden Drive will be necessary during construction to extend Highway 67 to six lanes in the Jacksonville region.

Between Main Street (Exit 9) and Vandenberg Boulevard (Exit 11), a 2.5-mile length, the extra lanes are to be built.

From Tuesday, June 6 to Friday, June 30, crews will close John Harden Drive between Braden Street and John Hardin Drive so they can work on drainage along the road, weather permitting. John Harden Drive’s closed section can be accessed by businesses from John Hardin Drive.

Braden Street will be used as a detour for traffic, and John Hardin Drive will be used to continue south. Braden Street can lead to Marshall for detoured traffic needing access to Main Street, according to ARDOT.

Detours will be marked with signs, and if more details are required, they can be found on the ARDOT detour map at NR 23-154-A.

Barricades, diversion signs, and message boards will be used to direct traffic. When traveling through a work zone, ARDOT urges drivers to use caution and to keep an eye out for slower-moving vehicles. Evening noise may be present in areas close to the Interstate.

As part of ARDOT’s Connecting Arkansas Program, the Highway 67 section in Jacksonville will be widened. Improvements at the Vandenburg Boulevard junction (Exit 11), the Gregory Street interchange (Exit 10B), the James Street interchange (Exit 10A), and the frontage roads’ one-way conversion are also part of the project.
