Fort Smith, Ark. – According to the state officials, the joint press conference will reportedly start at 10 a.m. and it’s regarding the upcoming 2024 Total Solar Eclipse affecting Arkansas.
On Monday, April 8, 2024, much of Arkansas will be in the direct path of a Total Solar Eclipse. Arkansas has not been in the direct path of a Total Solar Eclipse since 1918 and it will not be in the direct path of one again until 2045.
Due to the rarity and potential impact of such an event, the State of Arkansas has been preparing extensively.
As the Eclipse nears 30 days away, the following state agencies and offices will be present at a joint press conference to provide information about preparations and plans for this historic event:
