Little Rock, ARK — Ernest Oneal, a 38-year-old man from Little Rock, was arrested by Arkansas State Police on Wednesday following a road rage incident that occurred on Interstate 40 near Prothro Junction.
According to authorities, the incident took place around 10 a.m. when a motorist reported being threatened by the driver of a semi-truck. The victim described the vehicle to troopers, who quickly located the truck and made contact with the driver, later identified as Oneal. During the conversation, Oneal allegedly admitted to brandishing a weapon in a threatening manner while driving eastbound on I-40, near the 156-mile marker.
State police officials stated that Oneal’s actions prompted the victim to call for help. As a result, the suspect was arrested and transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center. He has been formally charged with one count of felony aggravated assault and one count of carrying a weapon.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to stress the importance of safety and calm on the roads to avoid potentially dangerous confrontations.
