Governor Sanders receives AI policy recommendations for Arkansas state government

Arkansas – Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has received a report from the AI and Analytics Center of Excellence outlining recommended policies and programs for adopting artificial intelligence across Arkansas state government.

The working group, launched by Governor Sanders in June, studied AI’s safe use in state operations, focusing on data protection, service improvements, and workforce preparedness.

“We are already seeing AI’s influence across many industries in America. Arkansas needs to protect its citizens from the misuse of AI while weighing the technology’s potential benefits to government efficiency,” Sanders said.

“I’m grateful to all the stakeholders who participated in this working group, and I look forward to reviewing their recommendations.”

Secretary of Transformation and Shared Services Leslie Fisken emphasized the importance of responsible AI adoption, noting that the report lays a foundation for strengthening government services.

Arkansas Chief Data Officer Robert McGough highlighted AI’s potential to improve efficiency, drive economic growth, and prepare the workforce for future jobs.
