If a new building isn’t found soon, the Greene County Historical Society could disappear

Little Rock, Arkansas – In search of a new facility, the Greene County Historical and Genealogical Society is having difficulty.

The historical society’s members have until October 1 to leave their existing building, according to a recent social media post.

The historical society has a limited amount of money available for a new location because it is a non-profit.

Additionally, the organization might be compelled to dissolve if no other home can be found for it.

Furthermore, the historical organization will have to distribute all research materials – including family files and documents—to other nonprofit genealogy societies and libraries if a new home is not found soon.

Finding a location to store all the data would be difficult, according to Jo Ann Rogers Wright, a member of the Greene County Historical and Genealogical Society, and would probably be on the other side of the state.

In a Facebook post, Wright claimed that the historical society has been “caretakers of Greene County’s history since 1987” and that the majority of local, governmental, and societal contributions are made invisibly.
