Little Rock, Arkansas – A Jonesboro police officer is no longer employed after getting into legal trouble.
On Friday, May 26, the Arkansas State Police detained Steven Lee Bryant Williams, 25, on charges of reckless and intoxicated driving.
He was not taken into custody, according to records from the Craighead County Detention Center.
Williams is scheduled to go on trial in Jonesboro District Court on Tuesday, August 8, at 9 a.m., according to court records.
Williams’ employment was terminated following his arrest, according to Police Chief Rick Elliott.
At the beginning of the year, Williams joined the force.
JPD claimed on April 14 on social media that he and the other cadets had “interdepartmental training” before enrolling at the Pocahontas, West Virginia, location of the Black River Technical College Law Enforcement Training Academy.
