FORT SMITH, Ark. — Fort Smith Police responded to a fatality accident involving a bicycle near the intersection of Reed and Allen Lanes on Aug. 28, 2026.
According to the Fort Smith Police Department, officers responded to the area following the reported accident. The department said its Accident Reconstruction team was also responding to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police warned that the reconstruction investigation would keep personnel in the area for several hours. Drivers traveling through the affected area were asked to use alternative routes while the investigation continued.
The department did not release additional information about the victim or the circumstances of the accident in the initial traffic alert.
The investigation remained ongoing as officers and the Accident Reconstruction team worked at the scene.
