Arkansas – An Arkansas State Police trooper conducted a traffic stop on Saturday, April 4, 2026, around 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 40 in Crawford County, leading to the discovery of a large quantity of suspected drug-infused products.
According to the Arkansas State Police, the stop occurred near the 2-mile marker in Crawford County. Troopers searched the vehicle during the stop and reported finding approximately 650 pounds of mushroom-based edible gummies and about 718 pounds of THC-infused gummies.
Officials said the driver told investigators he was traveling from California to Georgia at the time of the stop. Authorities have not released the driver’s identity. After being interviewed by law enforcement, the driver was released pending further investigation.
No arrests have been made in connection with the case at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Authorities have not confirmed whether any additional charges will be filed as evidence is reviewed and laboratory testing is completed on the seized substances.
The traffic stop took place along Interstate 40, a major east-west corridor frequently used for cross-country travel.
Law enforcement officials did not provide further details about where the shipment originated or its intended destination beyond the driver’s statement.
Arkansas State Police said the case is still under active investigation as troopers work to determine the legality and composition of the seized products.
