ACIC launches real-time upgrades to Arkansas missing persons database

Arkansas – The Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) has announced a major upgrade to its NeverForgotten.ar.gov webpage, a public, searchable database for missing persons in the state. Originally launched in 2016, the site now features real-time updates that will significantly enhance how information is shared with both the public and law enforcement.

Under the new system, any time a missing person is reported to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) by a local law enforcement agency, the entry will automatically appear on the Never Forgotten website.

The system will also reflect live updates, including revised details and the immediate removal of listings if a person is found and removed from the NCIC database.

Currently, Arkansas has more than 400 unresolved missing persons cases. The ages of those missing range from as young as 1 year to as old as 91.

As part of the upgrade, the Arkansas State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service will now receive alerts when a new entry is added to the system. This added layer of notification is designed to improve law enforcement response, especially in cases involving juveniles who may be at risk of trafficking.

Previously, the site was only updated weekly, which sometimes resulted in outdated or inaccurate listings. With the new real-time functionality, ACIC aims to improve the accuracy and speed of information sharing.

ACIC Deputy Director Rick Stallings led the project, collaborating closely with the site’s vendor to research, test, and implement the enhancements.

“These enhancements will improve the effectiveness of missing person investigations and public awareness campaigns, increasing the chances of safe recovery — particularly for vulnerable populations such as children and at-risk adults,” said Stallings.

While the system has been automated, local law enforcement agencies remain responsible for providing updated case information and recent photographs. Families of missing persons are urged to share current details and images with local police departments, which will then submit the information to ACIC for public display on the website.
