Arkansas Century Farm Program accepting applications until June 30, 2025, to honor families with 100+ years of farming heritage

Arkansas – The Arkansas Century Farm Program is currently accepting applications until June 30, 2025, recognizing families who have owned and farmed the same land for over 100 years.

This program, administered by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, celebrates the state’s agricultural history and the contributions of these long-standing farming families.

This voluntary, cost-free program honors the legacy of families who have preserved agricultural land for over a century.

While the program places no restrictions on the farm and offers no legal protections, approved applicants will receive a certificate and a metal sign for their property, showcasing the farm’s name and the year it was established.

To qualify, applicants must meet specific criteria, including being the legal owner of the property and having a family ownership totaling at least 100 years.

The land in question must be 10 or more acres of the original farm and must contribute financially to the overall farm income.

While family ownership does not need to be continuous, the farm must still have been owned by the same family for the required time, with ownership possibly passing through spouses, children, or other relatives.

To apply, applicants must provide legible deed documentation to verify the farm’s ownership history and submit the completed application by June 30, 2025.

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture encourages applicants to submit historic and current photographs of their farm, though they are not required.
