Arkansas – The 17th annual Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Archery in the Schools State Championship will take place on March 7-8, 2025, at the Hot Springs Convention Center and Bank OZK Arena, with ninety teams poised to compete.
The competition will feature the top 30 teams in three age-based divisions, all of which participated in qualifying tournaments held between November 23, 2024, and February 1, 2025.
Aimee Swaim, AIS program coordinator for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, shared that a total of 3,364 students competed in 25 qualifying events for the bull’s-eye competition.
“Teams could enter as many qualifying tournaments as they wanted, and we selected the top 30 teams in each division based on their best score,” Swaim said.
In addition to the 30 qualifying teams per division, six individual archers were invited to shoot at the state championship, even if their teams did not qualify.
“There are a few individuals who stood out during qualifying tournaments, but their team didn’t make it,” Swaim added.
“So we allowed six archers who scored 280 or higher (out of 300) who weren’t on qualifying teams to shoot on an individual basis at the state championship.”
