Arkansas – Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed multiple bills into law on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, addressing various issues, including education funding, firearm regulations, and military affairs.
One of the key measures, HB1056, established the Joint Committee on Military and Veteran’s Affairs. SB46 reflected the merger of East Arkansas Community College with the University of Arkansas system by renaming the institution to the University of Arkansas East Arkansas Community College.
Several bills focused on firearm regulations. SB15 amended laws regarding the negligent discharge of firearms while hunting deer by repealing § 15-43-205. SB16 increased the fines for discharging a firearm at a train or throwing objects at a train.

HB1204 established provisions for recovering damages related to necessary medical care, treatment, and services. Additionally, HB1273 amended laws concerning liens created by the Department of Finance and Administration, specifying that such liens are not superior to purchase money mortgages.
