Arkansas – The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $24.9 million Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity grant to the Arkansas Department of Transportation for the construction of the Corning Bypass.
The four-mile bypass will route traffic around the west side of Corning, diverting commercial trucks from the downtown business district.
It will be a four-lane, fully controlled access facility with two interchanges connecting to U.S. Highway 67.
The project is part of a broader effort to complete Future Interstate 57 between Walnut Ridge and Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
USDOT’s RAISE program supports infrastructure projects nationwide.
In this funding cycle, the department awarded $1.32 billion to more than 109 projects across the country.
