LITTLE ROCK — The Medical Marijuana Commission reports that patients have spent $38.09 million to obtain 5,904 pounds of medical marijuana in Arkansas.
As a result of the commission’s recent decision to issue an additional dispensary license in Zone 7, Nature’s Herbs and Wellness in Pine Bluff has been formally licensed. The company paid the $15,000 licensing fee and posted the required $100,000 bond, according to Scott Hardin with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.
The first dispensary in Arkansas opened in Hot Springs in May of 2019.
There are now 33 licensed dispensaries, 17 of which are open for business. The three dispensaries that are not yet open in Zone 5 (two in Little Rock, one in Sherwood) have all requested final inspection. These inspections will be completed by early next week.
The next meeting of the Medical Marijuana Commission is March 11 at 4.30 p.m.
