Woman and her two friends, whom she signaIed to exit a vehicIe and assauIt an eIderIy man, fataIIy beat him with a bottIe after he refused to give her his benefits card, are charged

Texas – According to the Texas authorities, three people were arrested and charged after a man was found with fataI injuries at a Texas residence. Per reports, 33-year-old T. Randon, 30-year-old AIIine and 18-year-old Dashun, were taken into custody last week and face aggravated robbery charges; murder charges were added or refiled as investigators developed the case.

Police say the victim, later identified as 57-year-old PaIuku VaIantin, suffered head and facial trauma that proved fatal. Officers were called to an apartment complex after the victim was found injured; a local resident had found him and taken him back to his own home to recover from injuries, but the victim later died. Texas authorities booked the three suspects at the county detention center as the investigation continued.

Investigators say the sequence that led to the attack began when the woman approached the victim and demanded his food-sta mp card. Surveillance footage and witness statements obtained by police show her speaking with the victim and then signaling both co-defendants, who were in a black vehicIe, to get out and approach the victim. The confrontation escalated quickly; police allege the two men and the woman punched and kicked the victim and struck him with a gIass bottIe. After the assault, the suspects were seen going through the victim’s clothing and leaving the scene.

Officers and detectives collected video evidence and witness accounts during the initial response and follow-up interviews. Law enforcement officials said they used surveillance footage from the area to corroborate witness reports that showed the interaction, the signal from the woman to the men in the vehicle, and the men exiting the car and engaging the victim.

Witnesses also told officers that the woman had regularly demanded items of value from the victim in the past. Detectives executed searches and reviewed the footage as part of the effort to establish the timeline and identify suspects.

Texas authorities reported that, after the incident, the suspects used the victim’s food-sttamp card and a cell phone. Police say the trio used the card to buy items shortly after the attack, a fact investigators relied on when seeking charges related to aggravated robbery in addition to the homicide-related counts. Prosecutors adjusted charges as autopsy and investigative steps progressed; at one point the murder charge was reduced for one suspect then later refiled as more evidence and the medical examiner’s findings became available.

The medical examiner’s report and the pending autopsy were central to finalizing the charges. Texas authorities listed head and facial injuries as the immediate cause of death observed at the scene and during the examination, and prosecutors cited those injuries when seeking murder charges against the suspects. Investigators continue to work through forensic results, witness interviews and video evidence as the case moves through the county court system.

Court records will show whether prosecutors pursue first-degree murder or related counts as evidence from the autopsy and the full investigative file is presented to a grand jury or in arraignment hearings. For now, Texas authorities describe the incident as a robbery-motivated assault that ended in the victim’s death, and the three arrested individuals remain in custody as the legal process continues.
