Woman accused the child she was lndecently assauIting of cheating on her, later claiming she meant emotionaIIy, before telling the minor that ‘she is the best thing he will ever have even with all of her mistakes’, police say

Illinois – An Illinois woman was taken into custody and charged with multiple counts of se-ual abuse involving a minor sttudent. Court documents reveal that the woman maintained a “memolr” on her phone, wherein she expressed volatile emotions towards the child, accusing him of infideIity and expressing feelings of betrayal.

The investigation began when the student’s mother discovered expIicit text messages between the 30-year-old educator, Cristina, and her child while setting up a new phone. Alarmed by the content, she reported the findings to the authorities on March 15, 2025. Authorities allege that the inappropriate relationship commenced during a tutoring session in December 2023 and continued over an extended period.

According to court documents, authorities in Illinois discovered a detailed “memolr” in the Notes app on the defendant’s phone during their investigation. The entries shed light on her emotional involvement with the minor student she’s accused of having an inappropriate relationship with.

In one note, the woman accused the child of cheating on her, later telling Illinois authorities she meant emotionally. She wrote that she began to lose interest, and that she had tried to end the relationship multiple times—messaging him that they should wait until after his graduation – but claimed he persuaded her to continue. In the same entry, she said the teen gaslit her.

A note read: “We will never ever be together again. I’m not a second choice. I’m the best thing you’ll ever have even with all of my mistakes.” In another note dated November 2024, the woman wrote that the two would reconnect and “get the closure we need in order to move on in a healthy way. We will be able to be a part of each other’s lives forever.”

The woman denied to police that she had any se-ual contact with the student but admitted that she knew the relationship was wrong and claimed she couldn’t end it because she cared about him.

Investigators also reviewed the student’s phone and found a message believed to be from the defendant that said, “I love having se* with you.” When questioned about it, the woman told police that the teen had taken her phone, sent the message to himself, then deleted it from her device and saved it to blackmail her.

Upon her arrest during a traffic stop on March 16, 2025, the woman appeared visibly distressed and confused. Bodycam footage captured her repeatedly asking officers, “Am I in trouble?” and expressing a desire for her husband to accompany her.

During police interviews, the woman denied the allegations, claiming that the student had manipulated her phone to send messages to himself as part of a blackmail scheme. She asserted that any incriminating writings found on her phone were expressions of anxiety related to her husband, not the student. She also described the student as a “stalker” and suggested that she was being targeted due to her appearance and caring nature.

She has been charged with two counts of aggravated criminal se-ual abuse and one count of criminal se-ual assault. She is currently on administrative leave and has been prohibited from contacting minors or entering school property. Her next court appearance is scheduled for April 14, 2025.

This case has raised concerns about the breach of trust between educators and students, highlighting the importance of safeguarding measures within educational institutions.
