Three killed after small plane traveling from New Orleans to Jonesboro crashed near Parkin

Arkansas – On Monday, October 6, 2025, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Arkansas State Police, working with the Federal Aviation Administration and the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center, responded to reports of a missing aircraft near the intersection of State Highways 75 and 306, west of Midway.

Memphis Air Traffic Control had lost radar contact and communications with the aircraft while it was en route from New Orleans to Jonesboro.

Around 6 p.m., following a coordinated search involving the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and local fire departments, authorities located the missing plane—a Cessna 210B—in a marshy area south of Highway 306 outside Parkin.

The crash resulted in the deaths of all three people aboard. The victims were identified as the pilot, Bob Clark Bolton Jr., 59, of Heber Springs; and passengers Stanley Mitchell, 52, and Michael Montgomery, 56, both of Jonesboro.

Personnel from the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board responded to the scene and have begun a formal investigation into the cause of the crash.
