Hunters between the ages of six and 15 will be granted four permits, according to the USACE, but candidates must submit a finished application by October 14.
You can pick up application forms for the unique modern firearms deer hunt at the USACE Dierks Lake Project Office.
On October 18, according to USACE, a lottery will take place and hunters will be notified.
According to the USACE, participants must have parental permission and be accompanied by an unarmed adult who is at least 21 years old, has completed hunter education, and has a current hunting license from Arkansas.
The hunters will have access to the area and will be given hunting blinds, but they are required to bring their own weapons. According to USACE, hunters must also possess the necessary skills to use firearms responsibly.
