Fort Smith, Ark. – The City of Fort Smith is recognizing a Fort Smith Police Department captain for 20 years of dedicated service marked by leadership, compassion, and a commitment to helping others.
Since joining the department in 2006, the captain has served in a variety of roles, including patrol officer, field training officer, detective, and supervisor.
Much of the work focused on juvenile cases, crimes against children, and domestic violence—areas considered a calling and an opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Promoted to captain in July 2025, the officer now leads the Patrol Special Operations Division, which supports patrol officers through specialized training and resources.
The division plays an important role in traffic safety, major accident investigations, public events, and quality-of-life policing.
City officials highlighted the captain’s emphasis on integrity, mentorship, and encouragement, noting that the influence of this leadership extends beyond daily operations and into the broader community.
