Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department announced an arrest in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred on March 23, 2026, in the 5700 block of Towson Avenue.
Officers initially responded during the early morning hours to reports of gunfire in a parking lot. A victim reported that shots were fired in their direction from a passing vehicle. No injuries were reported, though officers located multiple shell casings and damage to a nearby vehicle at the scene.
Following an investigation, police identified 28-year-old Colton Meyer as the suspect. He was located later in the week and taken into custody without incident.
Authorities said Meyer is facing a charge of aggravated assault.
Officials also expressed appreciation for the public’s patience during the investigation and acknowledged assistance from the Sebastian County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
