Spradling Elementary students visit Ebbing Air National Guard Base to learn about F-35 mission

Fort Smith, Ark. — Students from Spradling Elementary School recently visited Ebbing Air National Guard Base alongside Mayor George McGill for an up-close look at the F-35 mission in Fort Smith.

During the visit, fourth- and fifth-grade students had the opportunity to explore the aircraft, meet airmen, and learn about the role the base plays in aviation and national defense.

The educational trip introduced students to a variety of career opportunities connected to the aviation industry and military service.

Officials said the experience allowed students to gain firsthand knowledge of the technology, personnel, and operations involved in the F-35 mission.

City leaders highlighted the visit as an opportunity to connect local students with educational and career pathways while showcasing an important component of Fort Smith’s aviation and defense community.
