Single-Vehicle Crash Knocks Out Power in Fort Smith

Fort Smith, ARK — A single-vehicle crash at the intersection of South 58th Street and Rogers Avenue left a utility pole damaged and resulted in a brief power outage on Friday afternoon, Dec. 15.

The Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD) responded to the scene shortly after the crash, which occurred around 3 p.m. Authorities confirmed that there were injuries, but they did not specify whether the driver or any passengers were involved. The crash also caused significant damage to a nearby utility pole.

As a result of the damage, Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company (OG&E) reported that fewer than 10 customers lost power in the area, starting at 3:26 p.m. The outage was temporary, and power was restored shortly thereafter.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, and further details are expected to be released as the police continue their work. No additional information about the victims’ conditions was immediately available.
