Fort Smith, Ark. – On the night of Saturday, May 17, Fort Smith Police were called to a local hospital around 10 p.m., where a gunshot victim had arrived with life-threatening injuries.
The victim, later identified as 23-year-old Tumontay Parks, succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts.
According to a preliminary investigation, the shooting incident stemmed from a gathering in the 1400 block of Belle Avenue.
Witnesses reported that shots were fired from a dark-colored truck, which then fled the scene. Authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the shooting.
The Fort Smith Police Department continues to investigate the case and urges anyone with information to come forward.
