Paragould man accused of sexually assaulting two children

Paragould, Arkansas – A Paragould man was arrested on suspicion of raping one child and sexually assaulting another.

On Jan. 5, investigators took a report regarding alleged sexual abuse, according to court documents.

Three days later, an Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division agent interviewed the victim who “disclosed sexual acts that would constitute rape by definition of statute,” the affidavit stated.

According to the victim, 40-year-old Jason Summers was her offender in an incident that occurred in 2016.

During their investigation of the case, detectives interviewed a second person who “disclosed sexual acts that would constitute sexual assault by definition of statute,” the court documents revealed. A CACD investigator interviewed the second victim who also identified Summers as the offender. According to the affidavit, the alleged assault happened when the victim was six years younger.

Greene County District Judge Daniel Stidham found probable cause to charge Summers with one count of rape and one count of second-degree sexual assault.

Awaiting his next court appearance, Summers is being held in the Greene County Detention Center.
