Oklahoma minor arrested on drug charges after troopers seize nearly 200 pounds of illegal marijuana during traffic stop

Arkansas – Arkansas State Police troopers seized 190 pounds of illegal marijuana during a traffic stop Monday morning on Interstate 40 in Monroe County.

According to ASP, troopers stopped a black Chevrolet Silverado around 6 a.m. near the 217-mile marker after observing a traffic violation.

During a search of the vehicle, troopers discovered 190 one-pound bags of illegal marijuana stored in the bed of the truck.

The driver, identified as a 17-year-old from Oklahoma, was taken into custody following the discovery.

The suspect was transported to the Brinkley Police Department before being transported by Brinkley police to the Craighead County Juvenile Detention Center.

ASP said the traffic stop led to the seizure of a large amount of illegal drugs and the ongoing investigation remains with authorities.
