Fort Smith, Ark. – The City of Fort Smith announced that local, state, and federal leaders recently gathered at the Ebbing Air National Guard Base to break ground on the new F-35 Multi-Country Academic Training Center.
According to city officials, the new 44,000-square-foot facility will support international F-35 pilot and maintenance training.
The center will include advanced flight simulators and classrooms designed to serve allied partner nations for years to come.
Officials said the project marks a major milestone for Fort Smith and the surrounding River Valley region, representing continued growth, investment, and opportunity for the community.
City leaders also highlighted the expected economic impact of the project and said the new facility will strengthen Fort Smith’s role on the global stage as the training center expands operations at Ebbing.
