Conway, Arkansas – Fully vaccinated Arkansas teachers and students will not need to quarantine if they get exposed to Covid-19 in the next school year according to Gov. Asa Hutchinson announcement on Tuesday.
“It will minimize education loss,” Hutchinson said at a news briefing. “They will be able to stay in the classroom they will be able to continue their education.”
As of Tuesday, around 10% of school-aged students have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccines in Arkansas.
According to Gov. Asa Hutchinson, this measure not only helps students, but also helps parents who will not have to take days-off or look for child care.
The number of people hospitalized in Arkansas has been falling for two months, but it jumped on Tuesday for 29 now reaching 204.
“Everyone should be aware that the COVID-19 virus is still in our community and everyone should get vaccinated and be prepared,” Hutchinson added.
