Fort Smith, Ark. – Fort Smith Mayor George McGill is inviting residents and visitors to gather at the city’s riverfront for the Mayor’s Fourth of July Celebration as the nation marks America’s 250th birthday.
The celebration is scheduled for July 4, 2026, at Harry E. Kelly Park along the Arkansas River in Fort Smith. Admission to the event will be free for the public.
City officials encouraged community members to celebrate the national milestone alongside neighbors and friends at the riverfront gathering.
The event is expected to bring residents together for an evening of patriotic festivities in recognition of the country’s semiquincentennial celebration.
The annual Fourth of July celebration will take place at the Fort Smith Riverfront as part of the city’s observance of the historic anniversary.
