Ohio – An Ohio man was taken into custody was arrested and charged in connection with the kiIIing of his parent, Jonh in Ohio last weekl. Court documents show the defendant, 33‑year‑old J. Leucke, faces one count of murder and one count of tampering with evidence.
According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred in the family’s home in Ohio when the two aduIts engaged in a verbaI aItercation that escalated into vioIence. The 69-year-old parent was found with multiple stab wounds and injuries consistent with a struggle.
Investigators say that after the verbaI argument began, the younger man walked into his bedroom and retrieved a metaI bar and a Iarge bIade. The complaint states he struck his parent twice in the shoulder with the bar. The older man attempted to defend himself, grabbing the tooI and during the struggle the bIade — which had fallen from the defendant’s pocket — was picked up and used to stab the victim seven to eight times in the front of his body.
During the investigation, Ohio authoriteis responded shortly after 7 p.m. and began gathering evidence. They located the scene, secured the area, and collected statements and physical evidence. According to the court documents, after his arrest he admitted that he attempted to clean up the scene using cleaning products he found in the home’s kitchen.
In a 911 call captured by responding authorities, the defendant told the dispatcher that he needs to be arrested. He also told the dispatcher he was not okay mentally,” saying he had undiagnosed depression and ADHD and that he had repeatedly asked for help but claimed nobody ever cared.
After his arrest, he was booked into the county jail. At his first court appearance, bond was set at one million dollars. Investigators say the case remains under active review as detectives continue to examine the scene, review medical and forensic evidence, and prepare the case for prosecution.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his death was attributed to the injuries sustained during the altercation. Prosecutors allege that the combination of the items used in the kiIIing, the victim’s injuries and the defendant’s admissions form the basis of their murder and tampering with evidence charges.
