Arkansas – Arkansas authorities are searching for 32-year-old Benjamin Hanil Song, who is wanted in connection with the attempted murder of a federal officer during an armed attack on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Texas earlier this month.
The incident occurred on July 4, 2025, at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, where Song is accused of opening fire during what investigators describe as a targeted act of violence. According to officials, an Alvarado Police Officer was shot and wounded during the attack.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Song, who is considered armed and dangerous. A federal arrest warrant was issued for him on July 9 in the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division. He faces charges of Attempted Murder of a Federal Officer and Discharging a Firearm During, in Relation to, and in Furtherance of a Crime of Violence.
Song is described as an Asian male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
The FBI’s Dallas Field Office has requested assistance from neighboring states in disseminating information about the fugitive. The Arkansas State Police shared the alert early Sunday morning, urging the public to remain vigilant.
