Little Rock, ARK – The Little Rock Compassion Center is calling on the community for donations and support as it prepares to serve hundreds of holiday meals to struggling families and homeless individuals during the Christmas season. From Christmas Day, December 25, to Sunday, December 29, the center plans to provide daily meals as part of its ongoing mission to assist those facing financial hardship.
Pastor William Holloway, the executive director of the Little Rock Compassion Center, said the organization is deep into preparations to ensure that no one in need is left behind this holiday season. With the goal of serving hundreds of meals over the five-day span, the center is seeking food, supplies, and financial donations to cover the cost of the meals and other necessities.
“We are deep into the preparations for our celebration of the birth of Jesus,” Holloway remarked. “We have hundreds of meals to prepare, and we need serious help collecting the necessary food and supplies. Our community is in need, and we want to make sure everyone has the chance to experience a warm, festive meal this season.”
The Compassion Center, which has been serving the Little Rock community for years, offers a variety of services to those in need, including emergency shelter, food, and clothing. During the holidays, the center ramps up its efforts, recognizing that many families and individuals face greater financial challenges as the year comes to a close.
Donations of non-perishable items such as canned vegetables, pasta, and rice, as well as fresh produce, meats, and hygiene supplies, are being accepted. Additionally, monetary donations will help the center purchase ingredients and other necessary items for the holiday meals.
Volunteers are also encouraged to sign up to help prepare and serve meals throughout the week. As the Compassion Center aims to offer warmth and comfort to those experiencing homelessness or financial hardship, the support of the community is crucial.
“We’ve seen the impact that this kind of generosity can have on people’s lives,” said Holloway. “It’s not just about providing food, it’s about showing people that they are valued and loved, especially during what can be a very difficult time of year.”
The Little Rock Compassion Center is located in the heart of the city and serves as a vital resource for individuals and families in crisis. The holiday meals are one of the center’s largest efforts of the year, with volunteers and staff working tirelessly to provide a memorable experience for everyone who comes through their doors.
Anyone wishing to donate food, supplies, or funds, or to volunteer their time, is encouraged to contact the Compassion Center directly. Those interested in helping can reach out through the center’s website or by calling their office.
