Kindergartener in Jonesboro flown to the hospital

Jonesboro, Arkansas – A Jonesboro kindergartener was transported to a hospital in Memphis by air ambulance.

According to Ronnie Sturch, the director of Craighead County-Jonesboro E911, the five-year-old kid collided with a pole at the Jonesboro Kindergarten Center on Thursday afternoon.

The boy was treated by a school nurse, and 911 was dialed.

“Dispatch sent an ambulance,” Sturch said. “Emerson Ambulance Service called for a helicopter.”

The youngster was then transported by paramedics to Jonesboro High School’s Academies so that a medical helicopter could land there.

The youngster was then airlifted to a hospital in Memphis.

Kim Wilbanks, the superintendent, noted that the student was “alert and responsive, and the mother was with the child.”
