Arkansas – Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed an executive order on March 5, 2026, authorizing additional funding to assist with recovery efforts from severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes that began on or about March 14, 2024.
The order amends Proclamation DR 24-03, originally issued on May 6, 2024, to provide $118,070.95 from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund. The funding is authorized under Arkansas law and will support the state’s Public Assistance Program.
According to the order, the storms and flooding caused significant impacts to citizens and public property across the state, prompting executive action to address the resulting hardships.
The funds will be used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to help cover program and administrative costs related to disaster response and recovery efforts.
State officials said the additional funding will help affected political subdivisions recover from the losses caused by the severe weather.
