Governor Sanders authorizes additional disaster funding for severe storms and flooding

Arkansas – Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has signed an executive order authorizing additional funding to support recovery efforts tied to severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding that impacted Arkansas on or about April 2, 2025.

Under the order, $50,000 will be obligated from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund.

The funds will be used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to help cover program and administrative costs associated with the response and recovery efforts.

State officials said the executive action amends a prior disaster order issued in April 2025, which was enacted following widespread storm damage and flooding across affected areas of the state.
