Governor Sanders announces legislation to support lift access downhill mountain bike parks in Arkansas

Arkansas – As part of Natural State Day at the Capitol, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced legislation aimed at establishing lift access downhill mountain bike parks in Arkansas. Senate President Bart Hester (District 33) and Representative John Maddox (District 86) are sponsoring the bill.

Governor Sanders highlighted the state’s growing outdoor recreation industry, emphasizing that investments like the Mena Trails project will enhance quality of life, boost tourism, and attract more visitors to Arkansas.

First Gentleman Bryan Sanders stated that the Mena Trails have the potential to compete with top destinations in Colorado and Utah, while Senate President Hester expressed his support for initiatives that encourage companies to invest in Arkansas’ expanding tourism sector.

Representative Maddox emphasized the project’s significance for his district, noting that Arkansas is becoming a year-round outdoor recreation hub, with Mena playing a key role in that growth.
