Governor appoints judge for Arkansas’ Fourth Judicial Circuit

Arkansas – Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders appointed Dawn Egan as judge for Arkansas’ Fourth Judicial Circuit, Division 3. Egan will replace Judge Stacey Zimmerman, who is set to retire on March 1, 2025. She will assume office the same day, with her term running through December 31, 2026.

“Dawn is a very experienced and qualified attorney that has dedicated her career to serving our state’s most vulnerable with a special focus on kids. I look forward to her continued service on the Fourth Judicial Circuit,” Governor Sanders said.

Egan has worked as an Attorney Ad Litem for Washington and Madison counties for the past 14 years, representing approximately 5,000 abused and neglected children in dependency neglect cases.

She previously served as a juvenile prosecuting attorney in Washington County for six years before entering private practice. She initially worked with the Kester Law Firm before opening her own practice, handling domestic law cases and writing appeals.

She is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, Washington County Bar Association, and the National Association of Counsel for Children. She is also certified as a Child Welfare Law Specialist.
