Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department has launched an investigation into a string of vehicle break-ins that occurred over the past two days, raising concerns among residents and local authorities.
According to police, multiple vehicles were targeted at several locations throughout the city, with a concentration of incidents reported near apartment complexes and hotels. While specific addresses have not been disclosed, investigators believe the break-ins are connected and may have been carried out by the same suspect or group.
Surveillance footage captured around 3:55 a.m. on June 11 is being reviewed by detectives as part of the effort to identify those responsible. Authorities are actively collecting additional evidence, including more video and witness statements.
“We’re asking for the community’s help in solving these crimes,” said a spokesperson for the Fort Smith Police Department. “If you have any information that could assist, please reach out.”
