Fort Smith, Ark. – The City of Fort Smith provided an update on Project 19-17-C1, a Consent Decree-related effort focused on remedial measures in Sub-Basin MC08.
The project involves replacing or rehabilitating 6,336 linear feet of sanitary sewer main lines, 2,690 linear feet of sewer service lines, 142 cleanouts, and 38 manholes.
As of the Aug. 6 progress report, all 6,336 linear feet of sewer mains had been completed.
Crews also finished 1,367 linear feet of sewer service lines, representing 51 percent of the total.
In addition, 104 sewer service cleanouts (73 percent) and 25 manholes (66 percent) had been replaced or rehabilitated.
Krapff-Reynolds Construction Co. is leading the work, with an estimated completion date of Dec. 31, 2025.
The project carries an estimated cost of $3,145,779, with $2,472,480.05 completed to date. City officials reported that the project remains on track.
