Fort Smith Public Schools Police Department Earns Gold Star for 2024 Compliance

Fort Smith, ARK – The Fort Smith Public Schools Police Department (FSPS PD) has received a prestigious honor, earning a gold star for 2024 after achieving 100% compliance with the latest standards set by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Standards and Training Commission (ALESTC).

The FSPS PD was awarded a Certificate of Recognition and an exceptional audit report in recognition of its outstanding performance. The award was accompanied by a personal note from ALESTC Director Chris Chapmond, who expressed appreciation for the department’s dedication and professionalism during the audit.

“This recognition is a testament to our department’s hard work and dedication,” said FSPS PD Chief Eric Huber. “I am especially proud of Sheri Furhman and Lt.
