Fort Smith Police to participate in community bicycle safety event at Riverfront Park on April 25

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department announced it will take part in a community bicycle safety event scheduled for April 25, 2026, at Riverfront Park.

The event will run from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is being organized by the department’s Bicycle Unit in partnership with River Valley Cycling, which has helped provide safety equipment for distribution.

Officials said the event will feature a variety of activities focused on promoting bicycle safety, including cone courses, educational stations, and the distribution of free safety gear such as helmets and bicycle lights while supplies last.

The event is geared toward school-aged children and their parents, though all members of the public are welcome to attend.

The department’s Community Relations Unit is also expected to be present, bringing along the department’s “Scribble Car” as part of the outreach effort.
