Fort Smith Police Department to temporarily suspend online incident reporting during technology upgrade

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department announced that it will temporarily suspend certain online incident reporting services as it transitions to a new Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS), ProPhoenix.

The suspension will begin Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, and will affect services such as extra patrol requests, accident reports, and offense reporting. The pause will remain in effect until the ProPhoenix Citizens Service Page is fully operational.

According to the department, online records requests will still be available through the City of Fort Smith’s GovQA portal. In-person reporting will remain available at the police department, located at 100 S. 10th Street, which operates 24/7. Citizens may also continue to call the non-emergency line at (479) 709-5000 for assistance.

Chief Danny Baker said the upgrade will give the department a more modern and integrated system that improves responsiveness and record-keeping. He added that the department appreciates the community’s patience during the transition.

Updates on when online reporting services are restored will be shared through GovDelivery on the Fort Smith Police Department’s website and the department’s Facebook page.
