Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department announced it will host a free crime prevention class later this month aimed at helping families stay informed about risks facing children and teenagers.
The class, titled “Keeping Kids & Teens Safe: Drugs, Apps, & Other Dangers,” is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fort Smith Public Library.
According to the department, the class will focus on current drug trends impacting youth, apps and online activity parents should be aware of, and real-world dangers affecting kids and teens.
Officials said the event is designed to provide parents and guardians with practical information and insight to help guide conversations at home and improve awareness about potential safety concerns.
The class is being presented in partnership with the Fort Smith Public Library.
