Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department announced it will host its September Crime Prevention Class, focusing on Civilian Response to Active Shooter Training, on Tuesday, September 30.
The free class will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. in the FSPD Community Room. Firearms will not be permitted.
The training, presented by the department’s Community Relations Unit, will cover the “Run, Hide, Fight” method, a proven strategy for surviving active shooter incidents.
Attendees will also hear from a special guest who has personally lived through such an event.
Organizers noted that participants will leave with real-world strategies to help protect themselves and others.
