Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department marked Autism Awareness Month in April by showing support for individuals with autism and their families.
In a statement shared on April 3, the Department expressed pride in standing alongside those affected by autism, recognizing both individuals and the families who support them every day.
Officials also highlighted a special Autism Awareness police vehicle that had been seen throughout the community. Residents who spotted the vehicle were encouraged to acknowledge officers with a wave as a sign of shared support and awareness.
The initiative reflected the Department’s continued efforts to engage with the community and promote understanding during Autism Awareness Month.
