Fort Smith Police Department mourns the loss of dedicated community leader

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department joins the community in mourning the loss of Virgil “Keith” Greene, a man whose life was marked by service, leadership, and strong support for law enforcement.

Keith worked closely with the department for many years, attending the Citizens Police Academy and playing a pivotal role in Crime Stoppers.

His contributions went beyond his involvement in public safety. He ensured officers and dispatchers were recognized annually by VFW Post 39 and sponsored golf tournaments for officers who wished to participate.

His unwavering dedication to public safety and veteran organizations in the River Valley left a lasting impact on the community.

The department extends its deepest condolences to Keith’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
