Fort Smith, Ark. – The Fort Smith Police Department’s Pawfficer Fuzz visited Cavanaugh Elementary School to help celebrate Read Across America Week with students.
During the visit, Pawfficer Fuzz was joined by Officer Shoptaw and Officer Williams, who spent the morning reading stories and speaking with students about the importance of reading and learning.
Police said the students were excited to meet Pawfficer Fuzz, and the event included plenty of smiles, laughter, and conversations throughout the morning.
Officials noted that events like the visit provide an opportunity for officers to connect with students while encouraging a lifelong love of reading.
The department also thanked the staff and students at Cavanaugh Elementary School for welcoming the officers and Pawfficer Fuzz during the celebration.
