Fort Smith Police Department arrested woman for the fatal shooting of local resident

Fort Smith, Ark. – According to the police officials, her name is Kelsey Christine Dampier and she is from Pocola. Kelsey was arrested for the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Joshua Flanagan, local resident.

Fort Smith Police Department officers responded to the shooting call in the 600 block of North 18th Street around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

She was charged with one count of first-degree murder and a felony possession of firearm by certain persons. No bond has been set for Kelsey. The 37-year-old Joshua Flanagan had a single gunshot wound to his stomach from a handgun.

According to the police report, the officers spoke with witnesses in the neighborhood and they told them Stafford was upset because her phone got stolen, and claimed that she pinged her phone to Flanagan.

She argued with Stafford, and she pulled out a handgun and shot him one time in the stomach. The 37-year-old Joshua Flanagan was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Fort Smith Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division continues to investigate the homicide. This story will be updated.
